Settling In To A New Space
Time for a fresh and intentional start!
You know those people who LOVE buying new school supplies, the blank pages make them feel like a kid in a candy store… there’s so much potential, so many choices to make that they can hardly contain themselves. Then there’s the ones who look at a blank notebook and a college syllabus and they want to throw up at the mere thought of what lies ahead.
That’s kinda what moving is like. You either love it or you hate it, and the key to your freedom, either way, lies in focus and curiosity. A new move requires you to keep putting one foot in front of the other, and to stay both focused and curious at the same time.
As you settle into this new move the thing you want to stay focused on and curious about is how you want to feel. Keep taking action that leads you to feeling your desired feelings and stay curious about your surroundings from a place of that feeling.
Let’s say what you want to feel is CONNECTED, you can ask questions of yourself like:
What do I need to do next to feel CONNECTED to my new space?
Who can I CONNECT with that will help me feel a sense of belonging in this new place?
If I remain curious what new CONNECTIONS might I make?
How do you want to feel once you are settled into your new space?
What would your life look like if you felt that way?
What do you need to do right now in order to feel that way?
Focus on the entrances of your home- keep them clean, clear and inviting.
Keep the pathways open and clear for new opportunity to enter your life.
Add elements that represent YOU so that when someone enters the space (including you) they get a feel for who you are.
